Available Vacancies and Required Qualifications

1. Anterior Segment Fellow

• Number of Positions: 1
• Required Qualification: MBBS with MD/MS in Ophthalmology
• Registration: Nepal Medical Council (NMC) registration mandatory
• Level: Official Second Level (equivalent to 12th grade civil service)
• Fellowship Duration: One year
• Eligibility: Fresh graduates with interest in anterior segment and cataract surgery are highly encouraged to apply.
• Training: Full fellowship training will be provided under expert supervision.

2. General Ophthalmologist

• Number of Positions: 2
• Required Qualification: MBBS with MD/MS in Ophthalmology
• Registration: NMC registered
• Level: Official Second Level
• Preference: Applicants with prior experience in eye care practice or hospitals will be given priority.
• Roles: Clinical consultation, surgical services, patient management, and participation in outreach camps.

3. Medical Officer

• Number of Positions: 2
• Required Qualification: MBBS
• Registration: NMC registered
• Level: Official Third Level (equivalent to 10th grade civil service)
• Experience: Preference will be given to those with hospital-based work experience.
• Responsibility: Supporting ophthalmologists in diagnosis, minor procedures, and general patient care.

4. Ophthalmic Assistant

• Number of Positions: 5
• Required Qualification: Proficiency Certificate Level in Ophthalmic Science
• Registration: Must be registered with Nepal Health Professional Council (NHPC)
• Level: Senior Assistant Level (equivalent to 8th grade civil service)
• Duties: Preliminary eye examinations, patient counseling, OPD support, and assisting in surgical procedures.

5. CMA/ANM Assistant

• Number of Positions: 2
• Required Qualification: Certified as CMA or ANM (minimum 18-month course)
• Registration: Must be registered with NHPC (CMA) or Nepal Nursing Council (ANM)
• Level: Subsidiary Level (Fourth level civil service equivalent)
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year working in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
• Roles: Basic patient care, support services, assisting in minor procedures and documentation.

General Eligibility Criteria

• Age Limit:
  • 18 to 35 years for general candidates
  • Extended to 40 years for female candidates
• Work Locations:
  • Primary: Bharatpur Eye Hospital
  • Secondary: Affiliated satellite centers across Chitwan and nearby regions
• Language Skills:
  • Good command of Nepali required
  • English communication skills will be an advantage
